I knew this was going to happen when I bought the 2's My first pair of polks SDA 1A I bought for $200.00 about 10 miles from my house! My second Pair were SDA SRS 2's I paid $600.00 and drove 1000 miles round trip! When I listen to the 1a's I think to myself WOW!! they sound Great for $200 and I love them! But when I listen to the 2's I allways think to my self are they really worth $600 Are they that much better?

Why? Aren't the bigger speakers even more efficient than the smaller ones? If I'm right about that, the bigger speakers would need LESS power at the same volume level. The bigger speakers may ACCEPT more power; but the point would be to play 'em louder.
Now, the "nominal" ohms rating may--or may not--make life harder on the amp by pulling more current--but--if you have a 4-ohm-rated amp...life should be good.
More watts = louder, not "better". -
