If they aren't much more money, the 2.3TL's due to the better tweeters. That said, the SRS2's sound good also.

I knew this was going to happen when I bought the 2's My first pair of polks SDA 1A I bought for $200.00 about 10 miles from my house! My second Pair were SDA SRS 2's I paid $600.00 and drove 1000 miles round trip! When I listen to the 1a's I think to myself WOW!! they sound Great for $200 and I love them! But when I listen to the 2's I allways think to my self are they really worth $600 Are they that much better?

That's up to you to decide, not us.

Comparing the SDA 2A to the SDA SRS 2, I find the SDA SRS 2 is much much better at filling up a big room. SDA SRS 2 also sounds more full.

Which SDA SRS 2's do you have. Are they the 4 ohm blade/blade ones or the bi-amp ones that I believe are 8 ohms. I was lucky enough to find both in the area. I have the SDA 1C's so I thought I would chime in. If you have the SRS 2 4 ohm speakers you need a good amp or monster receiver. I have played both the SRS 2's and SDA 1's in a large room. Both sound great but the SRS 2's have a nasty base sound you can feel when you have them powered correctly. The SRS 2 's have a wider sound stage. Your question of do we think the SRS 2's are worth the money I would say yes. What are you running the SRS 2's with. The problem may be your amplification of these large speakers if you are not hearing the difference between the sda 1 and SRS 2's.

I've had 2As, 2Bs, CRS+s and SRS 2s in the same room and the SRS 2s win hands down. Almost 500 sq ft room and the SRS 2s fill it quite nicely and no need for sub.

Only if you're going to fill a large room. A 20 watt tube amp will power them fine otherwise.

I had a feeling that was the problem. The carver amp should make the SRS 2's sing. You will see what we mean. Let us know what you think when you hook the big boys up. My SRS 2's came alive when I hooked up a Luxman M-117 amp to it. Huge differance. The 4 ohm SRS 2's are hungry beasts. You need to feed them at least 200 watts per channel.

I ran my 4 ohm b/b SRS 2s with several amps, sand and tubed. The best they ever sounded was with an Anthem Amp One 40wpc EL-34 tubed amp(in a very large room). I've used amps with as much as 75 wpc tubers and 305 wpc Parasound. The PSound did a great job too.

Yup. As long as that amp will tolerate medium-low impedances.

Are you sure that you want a Pro Carver amp as opposed to a model that was designed for home audio ?? I have the srs2s (p/blade) driven by a TFM35 and while I've never heard the 2.3TLs so I can't offer any comparisons, I can say of the non-2.3s....... OMFG they are NICE !! And they sound that way without RDO tweeters or XO upgrades, I can't imagine how much better they could possibly sound afterwards but I plan to find out !:)

Are you sure that you want a Pro Carver ? From what I read they are pretty much the same, Like the M1.5 and the Pm1.5 other than the Gain knobs. I hope so it's on the truck!!

Pro amps don't have the finesse of a good home audio amp. Sure, it has lots of watts, but when it comes to sound quality, lots of watts doesn't mean a damn thing.
