Okay, my last post was going to another universe so to get back on track can any of you techno geeks tell me what mod's will be necessary to upgrade my RTA12 B's crossover and what speakers I shoud use for replacing the tweeter which has 5514stamped on the back? It looks like a black cloth dome with a vee shape groove on the front for the coil wires. Plus does anyone know what woofers I should order to replace the existing ones or if they work leave them alone?

That sounds like the "Peerless" tweeter, I would leave it alone. Same for the woofers."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Is there something special about the peerless tweeter that it's sound is superior to the replacement driver?

if drivers work, leave alone. as for cross over. recap. eliminate poly switch and silver mica caps."Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups"

Geoff727 did the best DIY write up for RTA 12's I've seen: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?116480-RTA-12C-s-upgraded-for-forum-member-w-pics&highlight=geoff727
Xover component values are in the schematics posted in one of the stickys. It's good policy to see what Polk actually used though, so check your caps and resistors for actual values.
