2 deals:
www.woot.com

http://sellout.woot.com

I've been wanting to get one for a while now. I've been eyeing the dell mini 12 for quite some time, but it never went on sale worth a crap. Anyway, checks out woot and they have one for $150, then have another for 180 thats xp instead of linux, 4 more gb's, and a webcam

I ended up getting 2, one for me and one for the fiancee.

Great deal, bet it doesnt last long.

BTW, if you're from texas, enter in coupon code 'taxsucks' and you get $5 off

Well - missed out on the sellout deal. I did purchase one of the Woot ones though. Thanks for the heads up. For basic web surfing it should be awesome. For those concerned about the memory and drive sizes.....

Crucial has 2gig memory upgrades for $25. You can also increase the size of the SSD (solid state disk baby) to 32gig for $80 (or 64gig for $149). (crucial is free shipping, but you do pay tax. All memory has lifetime warrantee)

I will be purchasing at least the memory upgrade. I will wait and see about the SSD. for my needs, still a great machine at a great price.

    Thanks a ton,

    Michael

That was a great price. I have the ACER version of the mini-book. Running Windows XP version for it now on 5 months, with the standard Atom processor, 1gig Ram, 120 gig regular H Drive, and built in web cam. So far so good. Wouldn't use it as a main computer. But for extreme portability it's hard to argue with 300 or less?

The one I got (from woot.com) only has 512meg of ram and a 4gig SDD. It comes with a version of Linux. I plan to upgrade the ram to 2gig - but thats it for now.

Its purpose will be just as a secondary web PC and it should work really well in that role. (I Hope it does anyway) I also plan to use my phone as a modem for wireless access anywhere.... :)

You can use the flash drive as additional storage. (like for files, MP3's and such) I would load all programs on the SDD. (and it is not additional RAM)

Good luck, I will post when mine comes in. (I already have the ram on order - it may actually arrive before the machine does)

Man!!! I'm so mad at myself. I had to make a different account to order another one for my fiancee after she said she wanted one. Evidently, it never went through as I checked her account today (Which exists after I made it), but it said i hadn't bought anything from woot. So instead of ordering 2, I just got one...and she gets it.

grrrrrrrrr!!!! I've been looking forward to getting this thing ever since I ordered it, now I'm not even going to get one! Damn!

I ordered two; one from woot and one from sellout woot.
If you want the one from woot, pm me.

egh, I was looking at the dell 'previously purchased new' ones, think I'm just going to pick up one of those. Basically the same thing as the sellout.woot.com one, but has blue tooth and a 1 year warranty for $260.

just ordered the dell mini 9 'previously purchased new'. it was $280 with tax. ordered 2gb of ram from crucial for another $30.

Certainly not $194, but hopefully it'll be worth the difference.

I have a friend that has Ubuntu and I'm not really a fan. I'd rather pay a little extra and get XP.

I am, however, a complete idiot...as I did in fact, order two of the mini computers. I have come to find out, that if you go under your sellout.woot.com account, it is different from your woot.com account. So if you buy something from sellout.woot.com, it will not show on your woot.com account.

To add to that, I was looking for the order confirmation in her email, and i found the membership confirmation...so I was looking above that...knowing that you have to be a member before you can order ****...so the order confirmation email should come after the membership confirmation email...wrong again.

More so, I was looking at my Wells Fargo...the paypal had already gone through and it was taken out of my wells fargo...which is how I paid for mine...through paypal. But I paid for the other one through my debit card...which still hasnt been charged yet.

So then I ordered ANOTHER computer...lol. So now I'm going to have 5 computers when they all get here. I might see if a friend wants to buy the sellout.woot.com as I have already bought more RAM for the dell. I feel like a tard.
