Note sure if there are any fans of this group on CP, but I just picked up Mastadons latest CD/DVD and it is awesome if you're into metal. I have their last 2 albums as well (Leviathan and Blood Mountain) and they continue to progress musically. I'm not the biggest fan of the lead singers voice but as musicians they are very impressive. I think they're the standard bearers for metal these days. Plus, as a huge Rush fan, I appreciate the progressive element in their music. The accompanying DVD talks about the making of the album and it is pretty interesting as well. If you like metal, check it out.
Anyone else heard this album. Thoughts?

Their best effort to date. My son is learning the songs by ear. Very technical stuff.
Looks like a great lineup, Mr. H. Glad to see Kings X still layin' it down.

Very nice guitar work. I see that they are compared to TOOL a lot. Not quite, but not bad.
