has anyone done the RDO 194 upgrade for the regular sda srs 2.3? if so, how much of a difference overall did it make? would a pair of reg 2.3 with the rdo and x-over upgrade come close to a regular pair of 2.3tl's?

Yes, I believe a number of folks have done that upgrade. Have you tried the search feature?

From my personal experience, although not with your model, the new tweeters make a huge difference.

No, different tweeters, different drivers and different cabinets.

I have upgraded to rdo 198 in my 2.3tl but those had 3 blown tweets when I got them so I didnt really know the difference, I had a guy come look at my reg 2.3's yesterday and when compared to my 2.3tl's they did not sound as good and he was wondering if those mods would make them sound as good as the 2.3tl's. I dont know I like the way they both sound, now that I did a side by side the tl's definitly sound better though.
    Thanks for the info though.

The RDO 194's made my SRS 2.3's much smoother and I was able to distinguish more space between the instruments at the higher frquencies. I was very satisifed with the results. Don't forget to add the dampening materila to the baskets of the woofers and maybe some Mortite in place of the paper gaskets. The sound will tighten up and provide better clarity and definition. The Dynamat and Mortite upgrade might cost $35. A great investment. Use the Forum search engine, there is a lot of infor on theis subject. An upgraded interconnect between the two speakers also helps with the SDA separtion. This upgrade may cost $50 or less. My point is a little investment can go a long way. Spending $350 on a crossover upgrade will give you a nice SQ improvement, but there are other less expensive tweeks to be done. Have you mounted your SDA's on spikes?
