I have heard really good things about Epik's Valor sealed sub. With that being said - I would not purchase those at $50 off of the normal retail price. Epik is located in the chicago area so you can do a local pickup at the factory. Not enough savings to deal with used in my opinion.

    Michael
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

...and Epik warranties don't transfer. They're supposed to be really good subs, but at such a small discount and with no warranty, it's not a good buy IMO.

    Considering used Epiks...

I've monitored their AVS thread since the beginning and there has not been one negative comment about any of their subs performance.

The Valor and the previous models are no longer in production. It's a great "budget" sealed sub that performed much better than it's asking price.

Most Epik owners seem to think that since there were relatively few units made of the first rev and were such a great value, that there intrinsic value is still at, above or slightly below what they paid, plus shipping :D.

    Hell, maybe they're right.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

I really wished the Epik warranty transferred. I would definitely have picked up a Valor when I was shopping for subs. I don't think we'll see a value like that anymore

    Fronts: Energy RC-70
    Center: Energy RC-LCR
    Surrounds: Energy Veritas 1.0CM
    Subwoofer: SVS PC12-NSD
    Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR705
    Amplifier: Denon POA-2200 w/ Ben's ICs

Pics of my setup (click me)

It's been that way for awhile. Chad stopped using BASH amps and hasn't been able to source another amp that's 1000w or more at reasonable pricepoints. If he does bring it back, it will likely be improved, but until then there's always the Dynasty.
