Placement for RT f/x surrounds?
Hey, 100th post!
Forgive me for what must be the 1,000th post on this. But I can't find it in search. How should I position my RT f/x surrounds? I managed to buy my much missed RT800s back and have now added a mint CS400 and these. My seating position is against the back wall and the left side wall is dominated by a bay window. Thus the left side only give a little room for mounting on the rear corner. Positioning on the back wall to the sides and above my listening position would be easiest, but I would be willing to put in additional hardware needed to mount them more to the direct sides of the listening position (in the more corner positions) if that were optimal. These were Polk's first Bi/Di speakers, I believe, and fire at 180 degrees instead of the 90 degree angles of the more current models.
I'll play with the positioning myself, but wanted to know if there were general best positions for bipole/dipole speakers from the best Polkies I know.
Thanks!!
(need to change the sig...I've lost some of these goodies :-P )

Maybe I should have said "dipole surround placement." Shoot! I wish I could turn back the hands of time.
Anyone with FX speakers of any generation with suggestions? -
Against the back wall? Thats a though one with the FX..... I have the LSiFX but I'm about 7' from the wall in the back.Onkyo TX-SR805
Onkyo DV-SP800 SACD/DVDA
Elite BDP95FD Blue Ray
Polk LSI15 Front, LSiC Center, LSiFX Surround, DSW Micro Pro 3000 Sub
Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR4 -
surround speakers are more forgiving than fronts or center...
i have my couch against the back wall. so my FX speakers are mounted even with the couch on the left and right walls. not behind. they sound fine to me.
I think you're dwelling to much on this. play around with placement.. as I said before.. they are not as critical as fronts.. so you have some wiggle room on placement.
If one FX is farther from the other one.. in your receiver you can compensate for the distance and delay.. that's what makes todays AVR's so cool..PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
