Free pair of LSi9s (if you pick them up)

If someone wants a free pair of LSi9s and is willing to pick them up, send me a PM. I am located on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.

I have upgraded my stereo system and the LSi9s have just been gathering dust and taking up space in my apartment for the last few months. The speakers are maple, about 3 years old, and in very good condition. You can also have an Orb Audio subwoofer that I used with the LSi9s that can be picked up for free as well. I do not have the original boxes for the speakers or the sub.

I am willing to give these away because I don't want to deal with the hassle of finding adequate boxes/packaging (or paying $90 to get new boxes from Polk), putting them up for sale on Audiogon in a very depressed market for used stereo gear, and then somehow lugging the speakers to UPS or Fed Ex for shipping. It's just not worth the effort to me.

The speakers can either be picked up at my apartment or from my apartment building's lobby.

Too far away myself but almost tempted to drive the 3.5 hours to pick them up. Have you tried Craigslist? You could sell them cheap there; I am sure someone would pay $300-$400 even in this market.

    Thanks for your generosity though.

Wow, a flight to where you are for around 300 bucks from dallas would be still an awesome deal. Have you decided yet?

 How hard can it be to get WAF for a pair of LSi9's? If she's that picky....;)

Nice offer Minimus, but seriously you can't give them to a family member or a neighbor? I'm sure the mailman would take them from you.

Um.... guys.... Read the post. He has LSI9's in MAPLE. Anything seem odd there? Like maybe the fact that LSi9's have never been available in maple?

The cherry finish of the old LSi 9 has lighter color than the current one. I remembered some forum members complained how the color faded after a certain time. Maybe that makes it look more maple than cherry

They are only 3 years old.

Maybe I'm too cautious but there is something fishy about this post.

edit... I guess I shouldn't tear into this guy. His other 5 posts seem legit, but at one point he had 2 year old LSi9's in cherry for sale. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but it still seems like something is up.

Actually, the LSi9s are cherry, not maple. Sorry for the confusion. A few months ago I listed them on Craigslist for $300. Two people responded and set up appointments to buy them. They were no shows and I ended up wasting a Sunday waiting around for them...so I am just letting them go for free to someone who will appreciate them.

I have upgraded to Sehring 703s, which are $9,000 speakers, which I bought used. My system now consists of a Wadia iTransport --> Northstar M192 DAC --> Manley Shrimp preamp --> B&K 4020 Power Amp --> Sehring 703s. The Sehrings are truly amazing speakers, but not very well known in the US.

A cheapest pair of LSi9 on Craigslist was $350 in Houston and that was gone in a blink

Right now, Devani is first in the queue for these. If I don't hear back from him, I will respond to others who have sent me PMs, but I will do it in a post on this thread, since right now I don't have enough posts to reply to PMs. I want these gone by tonight or tomorrow at the latest. If they are not taken by then, I will just donate them to a local thrift shop so I can at least take a tax deduction on them (and not have to read any more insinuations that I am a scam artist, luring the innocent with the offer of a free pair of entry level speakers.)
