Mounting options for the fx500i's
Here is the problem i'm having. My living room has strange angles near the back of it. So if I were to mount my 500's with the mounting bracket attached to the back, this would shoot one right at the other one, the second one would shoot right into the window. Does anyone know of a device I could buy for these speakers that i could set the angle etc? Or should I just install a shelve of some sort and accept the fact that these things are as big as dallas, and just deal with it? LOL Thanks in advance!

try using some wall mounts that are adjustable. Most of the time they'll hook up right on the wall plate connected to speaker and you can adjust the aiming.Home Speakers polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired), CSi30, FX3000i, PSW250

so no one here has had mounting issues concerning satellite speakers? AMAZING

Your larger A/V shops should carry mounting brackets that can be adjusted for problems such as you state. I know Best Buy carries'em.

I dunno if all wall mounts require you to screw the speakers to them, but I'm not a fan of that option personally. I looked at those mounts Wallstreet, and they indicate the 60 series. I think that you'd be fine with the 30.........why not a shelf? they wouldn't take up any more space than a shelf with as far as those Omni's stick the speaker out in the room........comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
These omnimounts will hook up to the wall plate attached to the speaker, so you won't have to drill.Home Speakers polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired), CSi30, FX3000i, PSW250

I dunno about teh plates on the back of the fx500i/i50, but with regard to the 1000's, there are two plates. Would the brackets accomodate those two brackets or just one of them?comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

For the 1000's, you have to drill into the back of the speakers. I'm not sure about the 500's. I checked it out with Polk, and they said no problem. -

One of the reqs in the original post was "articulated". With a shelf, you can't aim the speaker very well. With the omnimounts, you can point the thing right into your ear! Plus they look kind of cool. You can mount in from the wall or have it hang down from the ceiling. It really depends on your room though. I ended up not going with the omnimounts since you would be looking at the back of a huge speaker (fx1000) when you walked into the media room. It looked worse than it really was because you have 2 steps down going in, so I decided to scrap 7.1 and just stick a center channel in the middle of the back wall. I wouldn't worry about drilling into the back. Polk does it to put the mounting brackets on.
