extension cords, electrical, ground issues?

Wondering if I could use ex. cords for my amps/ players to my power conditioner. These cords were used during christmas, ~16AWG 9FT, no ground of course.

4give me if this was asked b4, need to know if i need to ground all my HT bodies for protection when all are connected to the Power Conditioner. floating ground?

Most component aren't grounded, why?

    If you have to have an extension cord, I wouldn't recommend anything less than 14awg, with a ground. 12awg would be preferable though.

    I ran a 14/3 extension cord from the washing machine outlet at a few gatherings just to have it on a clean circuit. No issues;)
