Has anyone heard/own them? There doesn't seem to be much info available on them. Polksda.com probably has the most, which isn't a lot. These look like a part of the RT series configured into a tower box.

Use the "Search" function right here on this forum. You will probably find enough info on RTA 11t to keep you reading until next week.

I have a pair that I bought from George Grand of the Jersey Grands.
They are a very good speaker IMO. They image pretty well and can put out a good amount of bass with proper power. I think they sound best if you tilt them back a little and elevate the tweeter to your ear level. They would be my main speaker if I did not find a pair of SDA's locally. I would try to get him down a bit on the price. They would be hard to beat for less than $200.
ScottI like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D -
I had 4 pair, and exactly what Scott above said.

No arguments with what has already been said. My first pair of vintage Polks, very nice speakers but you should be able to get him down on the price."The secret of happiness is freedom. The secret of freedom is courage." Thucydides

They're actually part of the vintage Monitor series as far as I know. I've never gotten my ears on a pair...they're some sexy looking speakers though IMO.
Some RTA-11TL's are most likely going to be next pair of vintage Polk's sometime down the line...though my Monitor 7A's won't be going anywhere.;)
Like others have said...Offer him 200. They're probably worth 225 and I've seen them go for more than that, 200 is about their average selling price though. The nirvana inducer-

I have a pair, and I love them. That being said, I love them MUCH more after I upgraded the Xover and the tweeters. So yeah, I would definitely try to get him below $200 since you can easily sink another $200 into them to get them to their "best". Don't let that scare you though, as "best" is always subjective. You would be surprised at the bass those little 6.5 inch speakers are capable of with the two passive radiators! They don't sound bad without the "upgrades", but most people(myself included) find them to be a little bright or even slightly harsh with the tweeters that are in them. The crossover upgrade is just as much to replace the caps as the values tend to drift after 20 or so years. Different types of caps will yield improvements as well. I think that's part of the reason I love mine so much, because I got to create a whole new level of performance with my own two hands. It's is a very rewarding project. I also say you would be hard pressed to find a speaker that sounds as good, even if you considered the upgrades, for less. That's my two cents. I hope that helps, and good luck!:)Sony 40" LCD

I've had my RTA11TL's since new and love them. With the RDO198 replacement tweeters and XO upgrades, they are better than ever.
I don't have the specs for the RTA11T but the TL should be similar. See link:
