Stereo Subs - Once Again, Very Soon!!

Well - the Super Towers are awesome, but with those extra mids - they sound a bit bass shy!

So Stereo subs -- err, more so bass modules it is! I wanted something a little more compact - but I didnt like the compact subs on the market, I wanted something pretty much straight music - I could care less if it could do 190db at 20hz or whatever. I want fast, precise something easy to mate with the Super Towers and not take up my entire room.

So Ty is making me some subs -- 13x14x30 - 10" Seas Excel woofers and a 500 watt Dayton plate amp per speaker. I did not want to go with a seperate amp and crossover this time - to much wiring mess and BS around it.

High power class AB output stage
Patented tracking downconverter power supply
Full parametric bass EQ
Phase reversal switch
Advanced soft clip circuitry
Toroidal power supply transformer
Auto On/Off
Power output: 273 watts RMS @ 8 ohms, 540 watts RMS @ 4 ohms
S/N ratio: 98 dB (A weighted)
Crossover: 30 - 200 Hz, 24 dB/octave
Dimensions: 11-15/16" W x 11-15/16" H x 5-1/4" D

Will be good down to 22hz -- front ported.

I am pretty excited -- I think the Super Towers and these subs will be in my posession for many many years. Big enough for pretty much any room I will be in and are designed around what I like. :)

You should have let your current speakers break in first...

Regardless, I use a pair of the aluminum 10" Seas woofers in my speakers. They move air really well and without a hint of boom.

Well the Super Towers are only rated to 35hz -- but so are the 7u --

So you take the same bass response and factor in two more drivers reproducing some midrange and you get a rather anemic sound in some songs...

In more rock based stuff where the deepest thing is a kick drum -- it is ok...

But anything with some symphonic stuff or anything of the sort - or even just a heavy bass beat - they lose sight and are no longer reproducing the music accurately.

But I have logged in probally 100-120 hours on the Super Towers - leaving them on when I go to work and stuff... so I think they are close...

Good to hear the 10" Seas are tight. Just what I am looking for!

Awesome to hear Dan. Glad you like them them!
