Older speaker

I have a pair of ar14 speakers does any one know how they would preform in todays world they have to be 25 years old and have been in storage in basement any advice would be appreciated ty Mike

    No idea. How do the surrounds look? Are they foam or rubber like Polks?

    Hook them up, start out low and gradually increase sound as long as they sound good.

    BTW, great 25 year speakers like Polk SDAs will go head to head with todays speakers north or $2k IMO.

    I'm not familiar with the AR-14, but all of the other AR speakers I've heard were some of the best available in their day. They all had problems with the woofer surrounds failing after 10 or so years though, so you will need to inspect the surrounds on yours and get them re-foamed or replaced if bad. If the 14's are as good as the rest of their line, I think it would be worth the expense.
