a house burnt down a few days ago a few blocks down from me. a 13 year old boy and 16 year old girl lived there. the boy was killed in the fire. the girl saw the fire and jumped out the attic window and called in the fire. come to hear the kids were left there all alone there all week (sometimes two) and the parents came up on the weekonds with a car full of food for them for the week. they were living in the house while the parents were living in the city.
what i would like to know is what kind of parents are they that they would leave their kids to fend for their self's and be 3 hours away all week. and this has been going on for almost a year now say the people who live next door to them. i feel bad for the parents because they just lost a son, but shouldent they be held accountable in some way??? its just terrible to say the least. any thoughts out there on this.

Horrible story... My mom used to work for Child Services, and some of the horrible things parents can come up with to do to kids are truly shocking. My heart goes out to the family, and I hope the parents find a nice 6x10 concrete room with pretty grey bars for a very long time.

Unbelievable...very sad. I can't imagine what would make anyone think they could do that. I know times are tough but this is just crazy (not to mention criminal). Both parents (I'm being generous) should get jail time for this. I'd like to know how this case ends.

    Where was this?

This is unbelievable, horrible, I feel for the young lives that were put in danger. I agree parents should be charged for such behavior. Unfortunately breeding has nothing to do with being responsible... what a shame.

You think this is bad? This is how the international community view americans. I am not speaking for myself, unfortunately that is how other nations see it.
