Saw this on another forum. At first I thought it was another attempt at capturing some attention with a modern retro style vehicle, but with some the options and features, I almost hope it's a joke.

My dad had a '78 (I believe). All the original wood panels and bed, the smokestacks, and the 360 police engine. That thing was the BALLS. Wish he never got rid of it.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

This is a slap in the face for rednecks everywhere... no gun rack? come on now:p seriously though, if they did this on a hemi-ram shortbed half ton complete with teh smokestacks it would be pretty cool, but on a minivan? Dad will never drive it and mom would never look twice at it. No wonder they are in financial oblivion

C'mon people... did you not read it? It's obviously a joke. Lines like this might clue you in - " For enthusiasts that long for an even more-accurate nostalgic experience, the GCLRT's "Lean Burn" switch electronically simulates classic 1970s-style engine knock and run on."

How 'bout the Mopar/Kraco cassette, 8 track, and CB radio option?

That's about right since the embarrasment they call the Charger exists.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

How about a hands free mike? As soon as you speak into the optional $149 earbud, the CB automatically triggers the mike switch!!!!

It's not the best looking, but runs like stink. The R/T is as quick as any Charger before and the SRT is quicker. But making it a sedan was about stupid. Just should have kept the Intrepid nameplate.

This is the one they should have produced the, 1999 Charger R/T concept, though still a four dour, the design led to the Mercedes CLS 4dr Coupe and later copied in the VW CC and now some of the Japanese counterparts.

IF they built it instead of the POS they decided to go with they may not be irelevant today...:(

The main reason for not building it was it was the CNG powerplant(cost vs return), but they could have put the normal 4.7 in it and done just fine and when the HEMI came out in '03, they would have had something very serious. The car is lighter than the one today and the Challenger(which I think is just badass) is based off the same platform as the 300/Charger and in SRT form will do 0-60 in 4.5 sec consistently. That car is heavy, just think what a car that is approximately 650 lbs lighter would do with the same Hemi. I wouldn't call the new car a POS though.

I don't see enough heritage in that model to really care what it does. Fast isn't that hard to do and that car is still a pig. At least the Challenger has some history in the lines.

That's why I said they should have kept the Intrepid nameplate. I was still working at a Dodge dealer when the cars came out and was very disappointed with the Charger compared to the 300. When the Challenger concept was released I got a woody. I will own a 6sp R/T when I get back on my feet. For the difference in price between the R/T and the SRT, I can live without the extra few HP, which I can get most of(if not all) back through inexpensive, non-warranty issue mods in exhaust and air intake. Plus I wouldn't have to worry with replacing those Brembos......SALTY!!!

the challenger as it reached production became a pig as well and for me does nothing but rape an icon. The car is 4 inches to tall and looks bloated compared to the original or even the concept. I guess when they decided to use a 300 for the donor chassis they had to compromise some where
