Would someone tell me what the difference between these two crossovers is?. Is it just a different parts supplier? The one with the big yellow caps is from a Monitor 10 1979 redone by Polk seven years ago and I do not know if it is "stock"" or has it been upgraded?? The other one is from 10As 1983. Thanks,Keith

Polk used different parts suppliers over the years.

In the right picture, what are the values of the cap and resistor on the left hand side?

Are you planning to replace the caps and resistors?

It would appear the one on the left has been "upgraded" to some extent since it doesn't have electrolytic caps and the one on the right does. Someone correct me iff I'm wrong please:D I would recommend redoing the caps and resistors on both with identical components, that is if they are going to be used together. Like I said though, I may be wrong, but someone much smarter than will comment soon I'm sure:)

They do look pretty much like the same crossover from what's visable, but closer evaluation would be needed. The blue ones are electrolytics. Not what are the best sonically, even before the age of them!

Different types of caps between the two wouldn't be terribly desirable. You should make sure the values displayed are the same before going in and changing out for modern caps.

Gentleman, thanks for your responses. I am not upgrading or doing any changes yet I am trying to estasblish what I have here and for educational purposes for me.. They are from two different sets of speakers. I have two of each. Let me re explain.
I know the one on the right is untouched and from a monitor 10A dated 1983 (my brothers)
The one on the left is from my Monitor 10s dated 1979 . It was sent to Polk about 15 years ago and Ken (THE MAN) rewired it and put new caps on it but I am not sure if he just replaced things or upgraded The question maybe should be is the one on the left stock?? In other words does anyone have a Monitor 10 1979 or older that they could take a picture of the crossover for comparison. Then my other question would be, Did the early 10Bs (SL1000 use the same crossover as the 10As (the one on the right. I know the later 10Bs (SL2000) are different. Thanks, keith
