I have search and found these 2 postings. But wondering if there is any updated information and other considerations on removing the side panels without tearing them up and any other tips on re-attaching?
I want to re-use the side panel cloth as it is original and in great shape. Just need to reglue the fabric to the cover and panels to speakers.

The panels are glued on to the sides of SDA-1C's from top to bottom. The panels are wood but are thin and could easily be split if care isn't taken when removing them. They do have a habit of separating from the speakers over time. I got the panels off on mine by very carefully and slowly using a long putty knife. The cloth is glued to the back side of the panel and may also be stuck to the glue on the side of the speaker. Getting the panel removed without damaging the cloth as well is difficult and may not be worth the extra effort. The cloth on mine was stuck in too many places, so I just decided to get the panels off without splitting the panels and put new cloth on afterwards. There will be a lot of old dry glue on the speaker you'll want to remove before you reattach the panels.

Unlike your situation, I had SRS 2's which needed to be reclothed. They also had glued on side panels. Check out this thread for details. IIRC, I used Liquid Nails to reattach.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 *
