Why don't you buy 2 X PSW 10s available on polk ebay site for 79 dollars each. Buy two and you'll have 100 Watts/RMS, 200W peak. They are not a great sub, but a GOOD Match for the M50s?

cnh, the reason I dont want the PSW10's is because I have heard that when there are explosions in movies, there is a great amount of port noise out of these subs. I want a sub that is loud, and can handle the boom alright. My apartments small so it doesnt have to blow the rood off, just handle the lows. Anyway, the shipping for BOTH of those subs would be outrageous. I have thought about this route already. Thanks for the help though.

If you go that way stack them in a corner or put one on either side of LP. That way you can feel them without having to blow the roof off.

You're right, the problem of port noise has been documented with these. But that can be mitigated a lot by adjusting volume setting and by appropriate placement. I've fooled around with the PSW12 in the past and found that I could more or less reduce the port noise to fairly unnoticeable levels, by positioning the sub at right angles to the main speakers. Port noise comes from the fact that these speakers do not like to be driven too hard.

I'd also check lower priced subs on www.onecall.com I got my present Boston sub there for about 200 dollars--shipping included? A 500 dollar MSRP item?

Suggest BIC-100 as its pretty decent sub. Close to your budget, but over by a tad.

Just a suggestion royalty. I use one of these Yammie subs in my HT and it really delivers. I've owned it for 2+ years now and it's a solid performer. My room is roughly 15x20. It's more than adequate bass, well built and well within your price range.

    Free ship on ebay.

That sub is 87 dollars on amazon! My room isnt even 15x20, I am probably going to go with that sub. Hey if it doesnt put out the bass I want I could buy two with those prices.
