Umphrey's McGee

I attended one of the best concerts in my life this week in Tulsa. The band was out of Chicago and was the most technically proficient, talented, with the deepest improvs (jams) that I have ever seen, and I've been to some of the worlds greatest jazz concerts one could imagine. This band rocks like no other that I can recall, two sets of an 1 1/2 hours of non stop action. They make Rush seem kind simple and trivial in comparison. No flames please, unless you've heard both.

If anyone ever gets a chance to catch them live, I will refund your ticket fee if you aren't impressed.......definately to be heard/seen live.

I've heard some very positive reviews of there music on WXRT FM out of Chicago. Unfortunately I haven't taken the opportunity to sample some of their stuff. I'll have to do that!

Dennis, do you like instrumental jazz? I have some friends out in Phoenix that used to play at Mandalay Bay. Their band is Turning Point. Check them out on itunes and if you like them, I will burn you a cd and ship it to you. May not be as good as the band you saw but they are pretty good. I will owe you one when you get my lp copied to a cd for me.
