yes I am not sure but that sounds right.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes
Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables
Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
Three 20 amp circuits. -
1) Some DVD players have a default audio output mode of 2 channel stereo. If your DVD player is only putting out 2 channel, than pro logic (or one of the others you named) would be received by the receiver/preamp. Check the settings on the dvd player menu.
2) If that does not work, if you hooked up your dvd player with only rca left/right outputs, the same issue would occur. For dolby dig 5.1 you need at least a coax or optical cable from dvd player to receiver.
3) If still no luck, check the settings on the receiver. It may be set in one of those other modes. Try selecting dd 5.1 (or ex) when you know the source is coded in them. -
