Sorry, but I'm holding out for BRDP's to get BELOW $200. So........
I have a limited collection of concert dvd's with good sound quality:

Roger Waters 'Live in the Flesh'*
Crossroads concerts 1 & 2
Cream reunion @ Royal Albert Hall
Judas Priest 'Rising in the East'

* I hold all others to the standard of SQ in 'Flesh':)

I'm looking for jazz, classical, blues, rock, folk.
I had the chance to listen to a John Denver concert that he recorded back in '95, even on a flat panel CRT t.v., the sound quality was really good.
I also remember being impressed by the 'Blue Man' show that was on dvd.

All feedback is appreciated.

Peter Gabriel - Still Growing Up: Live & Unwrapped

Is pretty awesome, I actually prefer it to the Growing Up DVD mentioned by Keiko, because of the song selection, more classic numbers on this one. Both are great and sound amazing.
Mains - Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand
    Subs - Rel T5 x 2
    Amplification - Bryston 3b cubed
    Pre Amp - Marantz Sc11-1
    SACD - Marantz Sa11-1
Stream - Cambridge Audio CXN v2
    Dac - Marantz Dac-1
    TT - Pro-Ject RPM 9.1 w/ Ortofon 2M Black Cartidge
Phono Stage - Project Tube box DS

Also include the Eagles Farewell Tour. If you are man enough to stomach a terrific musician get Barry Manilow's Manilow Live DVD. Carly Simon's Live on the Vineyard. Although I love Queen, I was disappointed in the 2 dvd's I got of them in concert. But you might enjoy them.

LOL! I've got nothing against Barry, if the SQ is good.
What was it about the 2 Queen dvd's that you didn't like? SQ? Or was it the way the it was edited?
An example: I have the Black Sabbath dvd 'Last Supper', but the concert songs are interupted by interviews. And I mean LITERALLY, in the middle of the song, they'll cut to interviews!?

:eek: How rude! What I was disappointed in was that Freddy Mercury just couldn't hit the high notes that he once could & so didn't try, but needless to say it kinda changed the entire song. The sound quality is excellent though.

Maybe it's one of those things you just have be BE there to enjoy it. But watching it is a disappointment.

I went to the last outdoor concert they had in Govt. Center here in Boston several years back. 100,000 people jammed into the square around the entire block to hear Frankie Valli & the 4 Seasons.

Frankie couldn't hit a high note to save his life, but we all had a great time & did it for him!:D

I almost had a heart attack to find out the next morning I was one of 100,000 people in that small area! Next year they moved the concerts out to the Hatch Shell where they hold the 4th of July concert!

    Sure George.

Recorded in 1987 on Martha's Vineyard. Remastered in DD 5.1 & stereo sound. Absolutely beautiful. Carly is in top notch vocal form. goes from guitar to piano with ease. Outstanding backup musicians & singers. Including a couple of her own children helping out with Itsy bitsy Spider.

Considering it's one of the few times that she came out of her shell to perform live, it's definately a keeper!

Directed by Jonathan Demme and filmed in 2005 at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville. Beautifully filmed and DTS soundtrack sounds wonderful.

Thanks for finally naming Roy Orbison's "Black And White Night" I know it isn't quite up to today's standards but it is one of the most intimate concerts of a real legend surrounded by great backup musicians and guests. It is very informal but one wishes that every great performer could have a sendoff like this one.

I also recommend both the Eagles concerts as standards. I was watching one of these last year with a fellow musician and his remark was "This just is unreal.....these guys just don't make mistakes". Correct, these guys have it down!!
