Telarc Fire Sale!

Stolen from Klipsch forum, haven't check it out yet:

Berkshirerecordoutlet.com is closing out a big portion of Telarc's cds and sacd's. As most of you know Telarc was bought out last last year by Concord and they decided to let the production crew go.

The prices are $2.99 and up for cds, $4.99 and up for SACDs. There are 218 different titles, mostly classical but some jazz and blues titles for sale.

No one is sure what this means for the Telarc label but the old production crew is trying to start their own business and that may not bode well for the folks that own Telarc these days. Most of their recordings are above average to great and the titles are pretty mainstream. If you are a fan you might want to fill in the gaps in your collections for a pittance.

Just thought some of you might like to know!!

    Downlad the Catalog file from the front page and open it with Excel (it's zipped file so use winzip or winrar to unzip it first).

    And you can sort the Telrac Recording from the Tool Bar in the Excel. It's under 'Data' tab and sort. Use Company name as the 1st category to sort and you'll see all the Telrac recording all together. Otherwise, Telrac recordings are all over the place when you open with Excel first.

    From the Catalog, browse the Telrac Recordings, and if you find the recordings you like, you can just write it down or copy the item number to the Catalog Search Feature in the Berkshire Record Website. You'll see the item you want to order and you can add it to the cart for ordering.
    Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone. :redface::biggrin:

    As megasat indicated, by inserting Telarc as the label in the search feature you get the full remaining Telarc sale list, which were the 211 items shown here when I checked. Among the most interesting items still available were(using their BRO codes which can be the search entry): 139960(Rachmaninoff 2d Symphony); 138700(Rachmaninoff piano concertos); 137192(Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique); 127577(Tchaikovsky 4th Symphony); 127563(Respighi collection); 127558(Ravel Daphnis et Chloe); 127546(Gliere Ilya Murometz); 127280(Albeniz Iberia)124692(Smetana Ma Vlast); 124679(Vaughan Williams 5th Symphony).

    Note that the Berkshire shipping charges are $6 for the first item plus $0.10 for each additional, so probably five or more should be ordered to reduce the per disc shipping to a reasonable level.

    Got my CD's today. I did not order any SCAD's, but found some jewels. Listening to Dave Brubeck's 40th ann. tour now.
