Its finally here. I got my Salk SongTowers in Honey Oak finish few weeks ago. Actually oak is not my favorite veneer but when SongTowers came up for a quick sale I could not resist. So I ordered them with a matching center. The center is yet to come. On the delivery day I made sure I was home to welcome my love my precious. I put stick notes on my door for FedEx that please don't leave we are home.

To begin with I want you to understand that I'm not a professional reviewer or an experienced audiophile and nor I'm a good writer. So please don't flame me. I just want to share my experience with y'all.
If you want a professional review check this speakers shoot out at audioholics that was post few days ago
http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/floorstanding/1500-2000-floor-shootout-2009

Here's my immature & short review for those who care.

After unpacking I immediately put some music to test and wow I was amazed by the smooth highs but I was still running this will SVS sub so I did not judge the bass. I then let some music run overnight to let it burn-in to ensure I satisfied myself.
Next day I played the demo tracks which is mix of Jazz, Vocal that comes with Salk speakers without sub.
WOW WOW I could not believe the sound coming out. The highs were smooth the bass was proportionate.
I am impressed and it amazes me daily. Its so additive that I play tracks after tracks I don't even notice that I'd been listening so late at night and I've to be at work next days.

I'm a happy camper and I don't regret my decision to upgrade from LSi15.
Attached are pics of my setup

As for the Audioholics shootout - it's damn near a worthless article.
That's what I was thinking. There are no frequency response charts for the speakers to compare with. The methodology was good but the results were subjective.

I saw the pic of your review sample over at AC forum. I like the veneer of your review sample. That's the only thing I regret that I should have chosen the veneer of my choice but I could not resist the urge to get them immediately vs. waiting for 45 days.

I had also asked Jim about getting Ribbons but he suggested that for my listening preference the Dome tweeters would suffice and I'd be wasting my money getting the RT's.
And I'm glad I took his advice.
Now I'm just waiting to get my center and hopefully the surrounds down the line.

I'd be interested to hear your comparison of the Song Towers to the LSi15's.
