Different types of plugs

Could someone tell me how you're supposed to use a speaker pin or banana plug or any other types of plugs? Like, some coax cables have a really tiny pin in the middle while others have a big plug (the type for digital cabling).

Hi Ender
[Is your User Name from 'Ender's Game"?]
Pins on speaker wires are for use with spring clip type connections.
Bananas on speaker wires are used with binding posts that have a hole in the middle in which to insert the banana (ok, ok, ok )
Not sure what you mean by a digital cable. Do you mean the cable that comes out of the wall and into your TV or cable/sat box? Or an audio cable that connects 2 components (like a CD player w/ a receiver)?

Mike,
Yes it is. Love the series.
Ah, yeah, I figured it out after searching for like... 30 minutes. Lol. I need to get better at my Google skills.
I was referring to the second definition you stated. Between two audio components. I think I figured it out. The smaller pin is Female and the bigger pin is RCA Male. But the coaxial is a coaxial. Just two different ways to connect. The TV usually uses Female and audio components usually use the RCA Male on the coaxial.
Is all this correct? Thanks for the response!

Hi Ender.
I'm confused
A 75ohm coaxial S/PDIF cable has identical male connectors on both ends (RCA or BNC). You probably have RCA connectors.

Mike,
Nope. I currently have a coaxial cable that looks like this: http://www.w-l-t.org/Pix/Coax%20w-F%20connector.jpg
Thus, the questions. But as I said, I think they are Female connections, not the normal RCA Male connections (particularly for audio components). I'm not 100% sure, but I think Female used to be used for cable or something.

Those are F type coax. They do make adaptors for F to RCA. Why are you asking?
