SDA 1 in Austin
Photo doesn't show crap.
Is this a good price if they are in good shape?

Depends on the SDA 1 model. If it was SDA 1C, then yes. Otherwise, eh... you could find better.
Ask him for better pics. Looks more like he's showcasing his house, rather than the speakers.SDA 1C, SDA 2A, SDA SRS 2, CMT-340SE, Swan M200MKII, Swan D1080MKII, Behringer MS40

Looks like a nice house...but what do the speakers look like?...lol You can't even see them...except for as a vague shape off in the distance...lol
That's not to bad of a price...I've seen them go higher than that, but I've also seen them go much lower than that. The nirvana inducer-

Lunazul, Hope I did not step on your deal but I did see these on Austin CL, called owner and had him send me pics.
They are SDA-1c with oak. The picture was off a cameria phone which sucked but after calling the owner I was convinced he would negotiate and as he described them as excellent, had original pin/blade cable and they belonged to his brother and was selling them for school supplies.
I drove down to Austin this morning and they look and sound great. Only problem is the side panals in a few places need to be reglued. No biggie.
They are in Plano now, as soon as one of my sons get home I will move them in the house and takes pics.
The pic below is what he sent me yesterday morning.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
Preamp: Joule Electra LA-150 MKII SE
Amp: Wright WPA 50-50 EAT KT88s
Analog: Marantz TT-15S1 MBS Glider SL| Wright WPP100C Amperex BB 6er5 and 7316 & WPM-100 SUT
Digital: Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core i5 8g RAM 1.5 TB HDD Music Server Amarra (memory play) - USB - W4S DAC 2

We had some friends over last night and we put on Phantom of the Opera, BD. Man, that disk has some dynamic range. Played it at reference, dialog (what there was of it) was just right. When the orchestra, tympani and organ kicked in, it blows your hair back. SDA surrounds are killer.

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)

Hey Ron, remember you made made me the SDA freak I am. At least I only had to drive 420 mile round trip for these. I doubt I will keep the Studio's, promised my wife I would sell them in order to get the Oaks.
You would think with DFW having a couple of million people SDA's would come up around here. Austin always has the best stuff, sometimes Houston.
I was hoping to find a good deal on amps and so forth while down there but no such luck.
It is killing me to have to wait until one of the boys get home to unload them. I am pacing and looking at the clock. They are just too heavy for my wife to help unload them.
I know a pair of Studio 1Cs coming for sale in Dallas now;)Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

Congrats on your purchase. Glad it was worth the trip.
not the best time for me to be buying toys anyway.
Good to see them go to someone that will appreciate them. -

I was just grousing about how I'd have jumped on those speakers 6 months ago, as close they are to me, gdb.
And considering the size of my livingroom/listening area, I'm sure they would be overkill.
What I shall do is I shall show that auction to my wife to demonstrate my indifference to some of the awesomest speakers out there, thereby accruing valuable WAF.
That is mega-lame, isn't it. -

Where you located in Central Texas ?
I'm just north of the Austin area. I do see some nice things pop up on CL around here on occasion. Never seem to be at the right time though. This economy doesn't help a whole lot, but then good things happen to those with patience.
Or so I hear:rolleyes: -

No one bid on them, only up for a few days, starting price too high. I have a feeling someone is suddenly moving from an apartment or rental house. -
Funny...I haven't seen those go for any less than $800,maybe OK. is the problem, they sure as hell would've sold for more than $700 in my area !
-
I don't think they were up long enough for anyone to find out about them to get a bid on. 2-3 days? Who does that?
I emailed the guy today just to get some info, see if he'd demo. If you're interested, I'll keep you posted. -

$700 is hardly too high for 2.3s. If all is truly good with them, that is a good price for this model.
This is just my current assessment of the SDA market with fair asking prices for the models in todays market with all in good cosmetic and fully working condition and quite a few for sale.
SDAII - $200-$350 add $100 for Pin/Blade for upgrades
CRS -$250-$350 Pin/Blade+ add $100 due to upgradeability to 4.1tl
SDA1A $250-$300 B $300-$400 C - $450-$600
SRSII - $550-$750
SRS3.1 - $550-$750
SRS2.3 - $750-$950 tl add $100
SRS 2.1 - $1000-$1500 tl adds easy $200-$300 simply cause they are the biggest and last.
I know it isn't a complete list of all models, and as always condition and location rules, as do upgrades.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

I need a pair of those 2.1's, I hear they are really rare!
DOH!!!! I looked at the list for 5 minutes and couldn't for the life of me see why it looked weird. Thanks for waiting past the 10 minute edit window, now my **** is hanging out for all to see.:D

John, I'm only interested as an observer. I'm waaaay too far away to pick those 2.3s up!! If you're interested... I suggest that you jump on em this time around. Me...I'm going to enjoy my pin/blade bi-ampable SRSIIs that I only had to pay $450 for, and only had to drive approx. 4.5hrs. each way to pick up ! Maybe in a year or so I'll see if I can find some 2.3s close by.:) -

I meant it's a high opener considering it was such a short-time listing. The guy only had 1 feedback which is what caught my eye first.
Edit: now that he's relisted with a 1 week window, he's alot more likely to get an auction rolling. -
Gotta be the same guy, which means he'd take 800 for them. -
no affil

Can't tell what condition these are in but the seller says they are in "mint shape, barely or never used"
