I have a couple problems hopefully you guys can help.

1- I have my ps3 hooked up to the bd hdmi input and with no disc in it reads mode not supported on the TV. Soon as I put the 1080p disk in it pops on. For some reasons it's not supporting the ps3 menu screen.

2- when watching directv if I turn the channel it flicker then goes to the channel.

3- when listening to music on my HD-DVD player the sub doesn't play.

I'm sure all three problems are just a settings problem.

Thanks

That's strange. I have my PS3 hooked up to the BD HDMI input as well, and have no issues what so ever. I'm using the HDMI control output (second one up from the bottom), I'm not sure if that makes a difference (I don't think it should), but figured I would mention it. If I remember correctly, we have the same tv as well, Samsung LN52A650?

And as far as Directv, I have that hooked up to the HDMI 3 input, and I get no flicker when changing channels, just a black screen for a second. I have my Directv receiver (HR21) set to Native on under the HDTV options.

I don't get the flicker when changing channels, but it will flicker when i turn it on, I figured it was the receiver readiing the input.

Thanks Metal I'm going to play around with it tonight and see I can figure it out. The Onkyo 805 is a more user friendly receiver.

Does your sub work when listening to music in stereo?

Have you tried resetting the unit to the Original Factory Setting first and see that solves any problems?

Or could it possibly that you got one from the first batch run and the software is not up to date?

There is no software update listed on the Pioneer site for SC-07 so you may need to call them to find out what's wrong with it?

I am also looking to get SC-07 but still waiting to hear the good and ugly news in the forum.
Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

I don't have a sub, but I think you have to go into "Speaker Settings" and switch the SW to "Plus" instead of "Yes"........I think.

When turning the Pioneer on, it's definitely normal to get a flicker, as well as when changing inputs. This happened on my 92 as well.

It shouldn't happen while changing channels or anything like that though, that would annoy the piss out of me!

    Leroy,

I went through the same thing.

I was so used to the Yamaha, setting up the 07 took me a few.

You do want to set the SW to plus in your speaker settings if you want sub in your 2 channel.

One down two to go . The sub works now on music. The guy at the store told me the Pioneer set/menu is kind of funky

Metal are you running MIT cables?

The menu just takes a little time to get acclimated with.
Since I previously owned the Pioneer Elite 92, most of the stuff on the SC-07 is familiar to me. Though the GUI is different, and much better.

Yeah, I'm running three 8' AVt-2 Speaker Cables for my fronts, and I have 2.5 pairs of the AVt-2 IC's (which are sitting idle at the moment).

    MIT.....Great cables IMO! ;)

Ok congrats on the 07 bro. I take it you got the sub figured out. HDMI from PS3 in the 07 should give you a gorgeous picture. You're going to have to do a reset on the PS3, then go into the settings and set it up accordingly. This was posted on AVS as a few end useres experienced your problem. I dont have cable box running into my 07 so I cant tell you much about the flickering issue.

If i can't get the flickering to stop when I change channels I'm just going to run the hdmi from the HD box directly to the TV and run a optical out to the sc-07. Its not like it's getting any hd formats through directv so optical should do fine.

I tried resetting the ps3 and still no luck. I hooked up my Sony BPD-350 to the Sc-07 bitstream so now the hd formats show up on the receiver and the 07 is doing the decoding. I might have to send the Ps3 to sony. Its weird because if I hook the ps3 directly to the TV it's fine. It's going to take me a few more days to get familiar with the 07 and get everything setup correct. I did run the MCACC.

One more question I couldn't get my Harmony 510 remote to pull up the Pioneer 07 model.

    Thanks

Nice! Congrats on the 07 man!

Are you running it by itself or with the Rotel 1095?

You're running RTiA5's/CSiA6 in front with FXi's for surrounds right?

This is basically the exact setup I'm hoping to put together over the next couple years...I'm jealous.:p

Can't wait to hear your review on the 07.:)

I'm going to be running The 07 by itself so the girl and kid can operate it. I had the Onkyo 805 and Rotel 1075 down in the basement rig. I have my Rotel 1095 in my living room rig on my Sda's. I also sold my RTI a9's so..........

    My current basement rig is

    Samsung 52" 650 series TOC
    Pioneer Elite sc-07
    Sony ps3/ Sony BDP-350
    Toshiba D3 HD DVD
    RTI a5
    CSI a6
    4 FXI a6
    dual MicroPro 4000's
    MIT AVT-3 cables

    & some fresh flowers :D

I want to pick up a Rotel 1092 ice amp to match the receiver.

I bet it's the fresh flowers that really make it shine right?

Very nice setup though. When can I move into your basement?:p

I think at this point, I've basically decided that when I upgrade my Onkyo 606 I'm going with the SC-07. Everyone seems to be glowing about these AVR's...so they really must be something special. It won't be in the cards anytime this year though...so I'm gonna have to stay content with my 606 for a while unfortunately. I'll be a lot more content with it though once I'm not using it for my 2 ch. listening I'm sure...this isn't really where the 606 excels unfortunately.

Aside from a few small differences though, that's almost the exact system I'm gonna be trying to put together over these next couple years...why does this stuff have to be so expensive? I need to take an "Audio Improvement" loan out from the bank or something...lol
