Does using both Velodnye sm1 bass manager system & Audsessy a bad idea?

I'm not sure, but I can say this... I have a Velo SMS-1 and recently purchased a Velo SPL-1500R sub which has it's own auto eq built in, with a mic included. I thought it would be overkill, but I was wrong. The SMS-1 is far superior to the built in sub eq, so I use both. I'm not familiar with the Audsessy. You could try calling Velo and asking them if you don't get anymore responses with this thread.

I have an Aud AVR and have used REW and a BFD for filters. Aud can not do much with the lower bass freqs. I would run AUd then look at your SMS and make tweaks to your liking based upon what you are trying to achieve.
