I was at Fred Meyer today polking around when I came across the JVC MX-KC38. It only caught my eye because I was marveling how much mini-system makers design their systems visually. But I decided to give it a little due and check out the spec. Here are some of the less impressive numbers pasted straight from their website: 110 watts per channel, min. RMS, driven into 3 ohms, at 1kHz, with no more than 10% total harmonic distortion. If that doesn't make you want to buy it, it also has a Sound Turbo button. I thought I would give a mini-system a chance and see where that segment of the market was at, but after the initial review, I didn't even want to give it a listen.
