    'specially with the Dahlquist subwoofer.

These are (were) perfectly decent speakers, but not the sine qua non that some hold them to be (IMNSHO, of course). Jon Dahlquist and Saul Marantz collaborated to bring them to the world (McIntosh had nothing at all to do with them). The early DQ-10s used the "large Advent" woofer, some nice Philips drivers, and the Motorola "orange juicer" piezo tweeter in a partly open, somewhat time-aligned array.

They seem pricey to me, but the subwoofer really is hard to find and maybe the whole shebang is worth that if it's in fine cosmetic shape.

A crossover will be needed. The hot setup is to have the Dahlquist LP-1 active crossover. The sub has actually been eclipsed by driver technology - there are better out there. But the LP-1 is still considered a VERY good crossover.
Dahlquist offered a passive MX-1 crossover too that was a lot less expensive.
Judging from the photos (they appear to be in vetry dgood condition), if it at least has a passive crossover, it is a fair asking price.

DQ-10's are still awesome speakers to this day and are on many people's "BEST" lists.

Anybody familiar with Dahlquist m-907.....from late 80's. They are 3 way with Vifa tweeter and mid....last of the original Dahlquist. Whats weird is They use Dahlquists version of the original Advent masonite woofer in sealed box . Nice build with real wood veneer. Another weird thing is that the top of the line M-909 used 2 - 8" Vifa woofers instead of the masonite 10" woofer in a port formation.

Fantastic "Tight" bass when placed on 10" stands....lots of air.

    Found this on a forum:

"........sophisticated crossovers with air core coils, mylar caps, Zobel's, and constant impedance (2 resistor) padding on the mids and tweets."....were designed by Carl Marchisotto while Jon still owned the company. (( Whatever that means))

All I know is they SOUND fantastic. Beat the Polk Monitor 10's hands down.
