Not Sure if I should start this thread or not. I'm not sure of the proper protocol for making a suggestion in this forum. I will apologize up front if my saying this in here offends anyone as it is not my intention.

Anyway, I was thinking it might be a good idea if we had a classified section dedicated in the forum to members in Canada. I started a thread in the clubhouse to see how many Canadian members that their are and it seems that there are quite a few. There are few reasons why I am suggesting this. Firstly, when I make a purchase from the US, I have to calculate rate of exchange on the cost of the Item, which depending on the exchange rate adds quite a bit to the cost.Also there is customs costs to be considered on items purchased from the US. Shipping costs also tend to be expensive whenever I ship or recieve goods from the US.
Don't misunderstand me. I am perfectly willing to deal with these hurdles when I am buying something that I want. On many occasions I have bought items from the US and have been very satisfied but I just thought it would be nice to be able to check one area and know it was Club members in Canada who were selling some polk gear.

    could we have a "Canada" thing that goes in front of the thread instead of a "for sale" one? this could then be changed to "sold" just like it is now.

    just an idea

    Wish I thought of that, an excellent suggestion Sophie, thank-You. I think that it would be helpful to the American members to know that the individual is in Canada as well.

    That's were I look, especially with the current state of the Canadian dollar. Put the dollar back on par and then USA shopping makes sense.

    Personnally, I'd feel a lot more confortable buying from people I am starting to know on a forum than total strangers (not being a member of audiomart forum). I think renowilliams has a great idea since I too am little puzzled and ratter un-confortable buying in the US with all the problems surrouding the purchase for us Canadians (too bad since there are such great and fair deals on this site).

    Does it really matter where a seller is located? As you said, if you want it, you buy it. Same here. Move on.

    This makes things easy, http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html

    BTW, this is not the place to post something like this. The Clubhouse is.

    For people that might be interested:
    Rene;

    The PSW225i is available but not at any retailer in the Ottawa area. You can try www.crutchfieldcanada.ca for this model. Crutchfield is an authorized Polk Audio dealer in Canada.

    Regards, Walter
