So the wife and I decided to see a movie on our 16th wedding anniversary and it ended up being I Love You Man.

If you don't know anything about it, basically it is a new comedy by the Apatow gang. This time starring Jason Segel, and Paul Rudd. Critics are calling it a Bromance comedy.

The story basically revolves around Rudd, who has committed all of his energy to his relationships, leaving him with no male friends. And the story takes life from there.

First off I avoid the theaters like the plague, honestly i find it a waste of money, but it was my anniversary...sooo you know. Anyways I really enjoyed the movie. Very quick one liners, funny scenes, and was very light hearted, the theater was about 1/4 full and from the sound of it everyone was enjoying themselves.

So for making my once a year foray into the theater I think we picked a solid movie. I will definitely be watching this one again. And if I could look half as good as Lou Ferrigno does at his age I will be estatic. Jon Favreau also has multiple scenes that are great.

A solid 8/10 for the Bromance.

I like the term "dick flick" (to counter "chick flick.")

    Nice. :D

It might get a raised eyebrow from my SO if I used that, though. Still, I live on the edge.... ;)

It was good. Kinda awkward but it had it's funny moments. Worthy of rental, not sure I should have spend the money in the theater...

If you have to take the wife/gf out, this one at least is bearable as far as chick flicks go! :D

Just caught this last night...I didn't see Jud Apatow's name plastered all of it but I noticed a few references to his "Freaks and Geeks" aside from Jason Segel who played Nick on F-n-G and Sydney here.

The actress (Rashida Jones) who played his fiance Zoe and who later had a season or two run on The Office first made a cameo appearance on Freaks and Geeks.

    2) Rush -- Rush was Nick's favorite band in Freaks and Geeks largely because of Neal Peart's skills

which is connected to the next point:

    3) The drum kits in Nicks and Sydney's place in each of these...

Anyway, I liked the movie quite a bit. Lots of awkwardness which seems to be a signature feature of Apatow's work...one of the funniest parts was the "slappin da bass" scene:

Watched this with my wife a few weeks ago and we both enjoyed it very much. It was surprisingly funny, since we had never really heard much about it. I must admit, that the dog **** scenes where hilarious!
