D/FW area - good speak repair shop
Hi,
I'm looking for a speaker repair shop to refoam a set of woofers for a reasonable price. Anyone has a place like that? I'm in Richardson, but would go as far as the mid-cities if needed.
TIA

Do it yourself, follow the directions, not that hard. I have done quite a few sets. I used to live in Arlington, and there was a shop in the Hick joint at 360 and Division? by GM plant, anyway in the same building as the hick night club, might be gone now. They did re-foams.

Thought about that, but realized I was too much of a perfectionist to be happy with any job I did. But if someone else dose it and I'm not watching, then I won't get quite as anal about it. I haven't completely ruled out the idea yet though. You have a particular place/site to get the foam kits you can recommend?Turntable: Empire 208

you might try this sight http://www.newfoam.com/kits.asp There are some on e-bay that I have used, just remember you will probably want to get your own glue as most send elmers glue because cannot send hazzardous or flamable through the mail. elmers does not bond to anything besides paper cones. I hope this helps.

Thanks... back when I was playing, several people I know took celestions there for reconing. Didn't think they were still around, as I would has sworn that the last time I drove by their shop it was closed down. I'll probably give them a shot. I know they were good about 15 years ago.Turntable: Empire 208
