FXi3 Placement

Hi all - I just picked up a pair of FXi3 refurbs from PolkDirect. Unfortunately, the serial number sticker does not indicate right or left (as it shows in the manual). Does the side with the midrange driver face forward or to the back?

I have seen conflicting posts here and on AVS so I'm hoping to get some resolution.

Also I am awaiting delivery of a second pair for back surrounds, whilch should be here later next week. As a starting point, I plan to set the sides at dipole and the backs at bipole.

Here's a link to my layout if it's helpful:

Thanks for reading and for any help/suggestions any of you can provide.

The driver should face forward toward your source.

Thanks for the quick reply, T4LF. I'm assuming that means the side with the tweeter and mid is towards the front of the room and the side with the tweeter and port is towards the back of the room.

That is correct. Also try to get them about 2 or 3 feet above ear level if possible.

Those are great surround speakers and I have a pair as well from polkdirect.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for confirming, Conradicles. Yes, I have my four surrounds at standing ear height. The best part was that the screws I was using for my Monitor 30s work perfectly for the FXi3s so it was a snap to hang them up.
