I was poking around on Craigslist & came across these. No pics but he's local...asking $300. Is that a good price if they're in good shape? I have no clue as to what they're worth. Are they worth checking out at that price?

That's the same price as the one I am looking at. It's a pretty damn good deal and I will be driving 750 miles round trip for it on a **** 18 mpg Izusu.

Yeap. And no. This is an SF deal. The OP in this thread is in NJ.

At least, I hope he's in NJ. In any case, I told the seller I would buy it upon embarking on a road trip and he seemed to like the idea. I don't think he would sell to another, but then again, I haven't met the guy yet so I dunno.

Money talks, and a bird in the hand is better than a bird in the bus. I wouldn't drag my feet. That is half the usual asking price.

I replied to the ad asking some questions. Let me know if you're not going to pursue.

Oh ya. I'm stalling as little as possible. Going up this Sunday, I believe. Lol. I seriously can't wait. I think I'm going to have a hard time sleeping or studying.

Yep, I'm in Jersey...a road trip to SF is a bit too far for me. :D I hope you make out well on the deal.

They're all yours. I was really just curious. It sounds like a great price so jump on them.

    Thanks pearsall001. I did :D

Well, I got a response to my first query along with pictures, but the seller apparently never got my follow-up replies. I just assumed that maybe he sold them. However there was an apparent issue somewhere as the seller wasn't getting any of my emails I sent throughout the week. Must have been a SPAM filter or something. I finally figured out how to get in touch with him.

I drove down and picked them up this afternoon. All the drivers, tweeters and radiators look to be in good shape and everything works. Had a good time-spent a couple hours chatting and listening a bit. Turn's out he's a fellow CP member

Yay, I finally have some SDA SRS 2's in the house!!
Now to get my read on so that I can get them setup properly, and then look into a little restoration, tweeter upgrades and XO upgrades. All in due time.

85 miles and about 1.5 hours each way. Not bad.

Yeah, I need to do a decent amount of restoration on mine and do all the upgrades as well. I'm still not 100% sure how to go about doing the restoration of the top and bottom plates and such though...

And yeah, 85 miles is almost nothing... I drove 800 for mine and some others drove I think almost 2k miles...

Yes, I know- and with the exception of the extra traffic on 676 thru Philly because a bridge on 76 was closed because of a fuel spill, traffic all the way thru Jersey was painless. Of course I must have passed like a dozen speed traps. The way home was a breeze as well. Well except I took the Commodore Barry Bridge back, and I was cringing the whole span. My Trailblazer was vibrating-across the entire span and then some-that is not a good road surface--I thought for sure I was going to lose a magnet off of a driver or two.

Apparently, the top and bottom plates are just attached with bolts accessible from the inside. Remove the upper drivers to access the tops and the radiator to access the bottoms.

Don't forget this when you do you x-overs. Be sure to mount the caps on the low pass so the passive won't hit them when re-installing them. Maybe mount one of them to the brace in each cabinet. Just a reminder for your future work.

Thanks--Man they are like mint inside-I guess when its a sealed design its a huge benefit-no worry about any immigrated buggies.

I know I don't have these setup correctly/optimally yet-but so far all I have to say is WOW, impressive.
