Will the Vifa XT25tg30-04 ring tweeter fit in the Polk Tsi 100 speaker?
And is it a suitable upgrade? Thanks.

Please replace the Polk tweeter with tweeters from Polk. Some are custom manufactured to their specs, and aftermarket tweeters rarely work. Mention you are a Club Polk member to get the discount. Polk is top notch in product, and CS.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

It's not a suitable replacement. If you want to upgrade anything, a good place to start is the tweeter cap(s).

If you want to stay with the original Polk specs then the Polk replacement is the way to go. I have a set of TSi100 sitting on the shelf collecting dust. For their price they are good but certainly there is room for improvement. Given that these speakers can be had for $150 / pair, I say go ahead and experiment. The real value is likely in the learning.

If you do go with a different tweeter you will most likely have to modify the XO (start from scratch) to voice the speaker properly. Polk has very experienced engineers and sophisticated equipment to do this but there is no one solution to a good sounding speaker. DIY folks do it all the time. Perhaps you have a good ear and the knowledge of XO's (LCR filters) and can do this well.?. You will likely spend more $$ doing this than you paid for the pair of TSI100's but it may be much more fun.

I thought about doing something like this with my RTA11TL's until I spoke to one of the engineers who designed them and decided to simply upgrade the XO components and make a few other suggested tweaks. One day I will build and voice my own.

Dang, this got longer than I intended.

Thanks for the replies. I will contact polk. Just experimenting. I have some other high end speakers, but I like the enclosures on the Tsi 100's.

I am impresses with the enclosures too. They seem very solid for such an affordable speaker.
