Tweeters for Monitor 7c

What can I use to replace tweets on Monitor 7c? I think I have one going out.

Are these correct? Peerless 810665

    I don't think the 7C's came with Peerless; do yours look like the ones in that auction, or have a silver dome? If silver, then you should not get these; my understanding is they will not fit.

    My monitor 7c's have the sl2000 tweeters in them. Its a silver dome with a black plate. The easiest way to tell if its a peerless is there wont be any polk audio logo on them.
    AVR - Yamaha Aventage RX-A800
    Amps - B&K Components ST2140 (for mains) and Parasound HCA-1000A (bi-amping center)
    Mains - RT1000i Towers
    Center - CS400i
    Sub - BIC Acoustech PL200

    My neighbors listen to very good music, whether they like it or not :cheesygrin:

    I was just looking at the shape of them. I saw a question in that eBay listing that said 7c and I wondered if those were a replacemtn for mine. I didnt think the color would matter.

    I guess I'll have to take them out to see what they are.

    As far as I know, the Peerless tweets won't fit without modification of the cabinet. The Peerless 7's also used an additional resistor in the crossovers, so I'm not sure if you'd be able to use them with the stock XO's or not.

    To the best of my knowledge, the 7C's never came with the Peerless tweets...just the SL-2000's.

    I'd suggest giving Polk cust. service a call after you've pulled one of the tweeters. If it's a 2000, they'll sell you a better/replacement one (RDO194 I think) for a discounted price if you tell them you're a member here. If you do have Peerless, they are a very good tweeter and would be worth trying to find some more, they are NLA new, unfortunately. Good luck !:)
