I am looking between the TSi 500 with a CS20 or the RTi A5 and the CSi A6. On the rears I was going to use Mointor 50. On the sides which ever bookshelf from the line I will use. Also find a sub.Yes 7.1. What do you guys think? I have a Sony STR-DG920 AVR.

I have the Monitor 70's which are pretty much the same as the TSi 500's and I love the way they sound. I also have the CS2, which is the same as the CS20. My surrounds I have Monitor 40's and they work very well too. You are wanting to use the Monitor 50's for surrounds so be careful with mix matching with the RTi's and the Monitor's. Ultimately I think it is going to come down to your budget as to which way you go.

I run M70s as well and I think that with a Sony 920 those Rtis are just going to sound WAY TOO BRIGHT! That's my main concern. Sony receivers except for the ES line really don't have the sound of some of their competitors (Onkyo, Denon, Harman Kardon all of these are high current receivers and IMO have better sound than the Sony. So I would say that M70s or TSI-500s would be 'better' with a Sony, not that they are better than the Rti series but they would sound less HARSH with a Sony amp. The very thought of running Rtis with a Sony makes me cringe at the highs they would put out.

That is the better combo...but it's going to sound bright! My suggestion spend a few hundred on a better receiver if you go that route. Nothing wrong with that route, personally I don't think the A5s are that much better than the M70s. They can handle more power and the tweeter is more dynamic, etc. But as I've said previously, I would not upgrade to A5s from M70s, I'd go directly to the Rti-A9s.

But that's a subjective call on my part. I've heard both speakers. The M70s are more forgiving of lower end gear. I don't think many will disagree with that but maybe they will.

Certainly the Rtis are a better investment because you can resell those at a better price.

I have had the Sony just a couple for month so I will kept if for a while. I will go with the TSi. I am not worry about resale.
