You would have to add them yourself. Partsexpress has some good ones, or check out ebay or audiogon.

thanks for the link and the advice. I had tried to put some from a set of B&W speakers on them but they would not fit. Different sizes.

I second the Mye Sound spikes, none better. You have to ask for 10-24 thread to match the stock inserts.

I have heard that the spikes make a difference in sound quality.

Is there any truth to this ???

Ernie, I made a mistake. The thread pattern you want is 1/4"-20. Call Grant right away to correct.

Yes, all SDA's that take spikes have 1/4"-20 thread patterns.
    Anyone use spikes w/SDA 1Cs?

I have installed spikes on 1C's. I bought the threaded inserts from Parts Express, I believe. They come in a 50 pack, but are cheap enough.

    Yes.

    You bought a set?
Maybe I missed something but don't they cost as much as the SDA's themselves? I better go look again

    The spikes were 80 shipped.

Do they make a difference in the sound VS not running spikes?

DAMM RIGHT! Huge difference like I just bought a new speaker. The bass now jumps out at you and it just tightened everything up. I actually don't use the tone controls anymore and have them disengaged on the pre.

For my basement, this was the right choice.

Thanks hearingimpared and F1 for the suggestion. Great people to work with also.

    Mother Of God!

I spent about five bucks. Drilled the bases in three places each to install 1/4" tee-nuts; took hardened quarter-inch bolts, sawed the heads off, and ground the tips to a point. Thread 'em in, adjust for height, secure each with a jam nut. 6 tee nuts, 6 Grade 8 bolts, 6 jam nuts and something less than an hour.

Gives me seventy-five extra dollars for Armor-All on my CDs. ;)

Ernie, can you take some pics ? I have H/W floors and I assume I would need some sort of disk to put under them. Will the disk distract from the improvements ?

I have 1C oaks BTW. Sound improvement at $80 is cheap and I think it would improve the looks as well.

I'm a big fan of solid billet spikes, no real reason other than the end quality of the product. I don't use anything but Grant's spikes for my stuff....YMMV.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Grant is mye When you call either grant or his wife will answer. I can take some pics this weekend. Since they do have a sharp point I would put something under them. For me, they are in my basement on a carpet square on a cement floor.

Erine, glad you like them, but most importantly that they improved the sound.

Thsmith, this is what they look like. http://www.myesound.com/Points_n_pads.html

Folks, I am looking to get these from the link above: "Area rug over finished floor: Round bottoms"...but my question is which size would be best for my SDA-1C's - the small or large?
