Jean Langlais: Missa Salve Regina
I got this CD today.....I'm guessing that this is a little known Composer?
I had never heard of him before!
He was a more modern composer living from 1907 till 1991 and He was also blind.
Here is the info I found on Him threw Wikpedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Langlais
This CD is different....very "Church like" with Organ and Choir.
It's actully quite nice and might not be for everyone.
I got it pretty reasonable with 2CD set of Verdi's Requiem I bought from a Ebay Seller. ($6.95 shipped MINT...Verdi I got for $12.95 shipped MINT)
*Maybe I'll do a blurp on the Verdi Requiem later*
Here it is at Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Langlais-Missa-Salve-Regina-Solennelle/dp/B000002ZK8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1237324332&sr=8-2
Penguin Guide To Classical Compact Disc's had this to say about it....
'Those unfamiliar with the music of Jean Langlais should lose no time and try this outstanding collection' (The Penguin Guide to Compact Discs)
Here it is also at Presto Classical
