Ok heres the deal I just recieved my QUOTE BRAND NEW LSIC from ebay and the thing showed up damaged Its looks like it was dropped on the corner and split it on the side and bottom. Now the seller claims that it was BRAND NEW and only removed it to take pics, It did not have the orignal packing, box but now foam or bag and such. It was double boxed and had those stupid little packing peanuts but IMO was not packed very good. So my question to all of you is do I return this or just deal with it and chalk it up to another lesson learned about the fun of internet shopping.

It's the shipper's (seller) responsibility to make the insurance claim. But 9/10 times the shipper won't cover it because the packing didn't meet their stringent guidelines (see fine print).

If the seller won't reimburse you, make a claim with ebay/paypal.

I would hesitate to calling the seller a liar. I experienced a similiar situation with an honorable polkie SlowcarIX.

It was a dsw sub that arrived packed horribly with with the materials you mentioned above in a box way too big. I didnt remove the sub from the box until I got home and it was beat up pretty bad cosmetically and without the power cord and remote. I called Slowcar and he was very surpised as he shipped 3 all with original packing.

Apparantly, UPS destroyed the package with the gentle way they handle them. I first filed a claim and was informed that the claim had to come from the seller.

Abner (slowcar) was great filing the claim. Seller has to fight with them about the way he originally sent the package. Shipper will give the generic answer about shipping requirements. you have to be persistent to get past the form letter responses. He had taken insurance on the package and had UPS send me the check.

That **** packing job sounds like the shipper may have destroyed the original

I've had much better luck with FedEx, and their prices are a lot lower for non-commercial shippers.

    TRUE!!

When UPS destroys the package, they just re-package it and deliver it. Most of the time the contents got damaged too. I used to work handleing heavy boxed that were delivered by UPS and daily we received damaged pakages... UPS sucks!

Just never use FedEx in Canada or for cross-border shipping between the USA and Canada. Man oh man do they know how to loose a package. They are even better at destroying them!

But when dealing exclusively in the States, I have had only good things to say about FedEx. UPS, and USPS, have been good to me too, but not quite AS good.

Ok so I've had a chance to calm down a little bit and also had a chance to speak with the seller. He finally called after I sent a couple of nasty emails and we came to an agreement that I think I can live with, after all said and done I ended up paying 200 shipping included he has already refunded the difference to my paypal account. So I guess that I overreacted a bit but it did take some doing to get him to realize that the speaker actually was damaged prior to me recieving it. So not all ebayers are bad people.

$200 for an Lsic with a split cabinet? You should have got a refund.

Never said if the item was insured or not.... If so, the shippers will pay the insured amount, just have to take the steps to file the claim. Send pictures of the packaging and items to the seller so that he can file the claim. He will get the generic "item needs to be packed a certain way form response", then he can dispute it and get down to business.

This only matters if package was insured. If not, nevermind

Hi Mark and Polk club members Russell Woolfolk Here! Sorry I haven't spent much time on the forum lately but I have been very busy making Polk better (I hope) for our on-line customers. Many of you know me, I along with many other talented people manage our on-line business, Polk on eBay, and PolkAudio.com.

Mark, I am very displeased to hear about your recent experience purchasing Polk products and want to offer any assistance that I can to help you get this resolved. We want your buying experience of Polk products to be painless and enjoyable regardless of what AUTHORIZED dealer you are purchasing from. Note: I said authorized really big. This is the first thing you want to look for. The easiest way is to go to Polkaudio.com and check the dealer locator. If not found there you can always call us at 800 377-7655. We'll do our best to locate them and verify that they are authorized Polk dealers. Also, if you're experience is less than desireable or you had a great experience we want to hear about that too. Last, if a deal seems to good to be true check with us on verifying current models ect...

In your instance as I see you have already done, get back directly with the dealer and see if they can quickly resolve. If not, you do have recourse through Paypal or your credit card company if the product or services purchased were not as represented. However, a good dealer will look to find a quick and low cost way to quickly resolve..

In closing please do call us directly if we can assist to get this fixed to your satisfaction. You can alway contact me at Rwoolfolk@polkaudio.com and I will also try to put you in the right direction.

Hope this turns out well and let us know how this is resolved.

    Best Regards,
