due to the 25 post rule i cannot post this item the correct way for sale.

the reason i am here is this post.
https://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76079

i have (3) of these amps - one of which I will part with - but i am not sure
as to the best place to list them for sale given their niche market - ie. finding a group that can appreciate what they are.
2 of the units have been in storage for 10 years - i know thats sad.
they function fine. i have video on youtube from my sale of another a year or so ago.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

They are very nice amps. I think bluecomet was looking at picking up another, but aa, please honor the forum rules. Contribute a little bit, get to know us, then if you still want to sell, try it here.

I tried CL and a couple of other places, but it's not a great economy right now. I agree with you on ebay...avoid if possible.

not sure at this time if i will be letting them go.

2 of the 3 units do not have more than 10 hours on them.
its a long story as to how i got them, but i have had them in storage over 13 years myself.

For the money the M-117 is a great performing amp; has a very warm and rich sound. I am using one to power my monitor 10b and I love it. I also have its little brother the M-113 which is pretty good as well. Only rated at 50wpc/8ohms but sounds like it has alot moe power than that. I was thinking about selling it but have not made up my mind. My Adcom 535II and the Luxman M-113 produce almost the exact same sound with the edge going to the Adcom 535II by a very slight margin for its extra 15wpc.

It's really special combined with a Luxman pre, which is what bluecomet is enjoying right now. I really wish I could have kept it.

I wish I would have found one locally but I had no luck. Kinda glad really cause it allowed me to pick up the Adcom 535II for my center channel. On a side note I did pick up a pair of Polk Rt55s yesterday in fantastic condition. I have them hooked up right now and they sound pretty good but do sound different than my monitor 10b. I am in the process of making up my mind if I want to keep these or the 10b(lol). The RT55 are in super shape and have a better WAF so I will see how that plays into me keeping them as well. My wife is pretty laid back but with the 10b she says it feels like a dorm room. Seems like I am in the process of always making up my mind on audio equipment.;)

sorry that is a bit confusing.
when i got them they had been in storage at least 3 years - no one could remember when they were purchased - that was 10 years ago. I use 1 today in my setup with an old school DVP S7000, leaving 2 in storage for at least 13years. I suspect much longer given their production dates.

And now the ebay auction has turned into a fine mess with one person sending money and another hitting the buy now price and sending money.

Looks like I have to cancel the transaction and start again.
    LOVE EBAY.

Seems I asked too little to have 2 people jump on it in less than 2 hours.

If you relist this on ebay, I suggest you set a reserve and let nature take it's course. You might be surprised at what you'll get for the amp.

Well Ron you were correct. The unit sold on ebay for $501.00. Much better than anticipated, but still fair for both parties.

    Thanks for the advice.

Good for you...that's probably about average, as we discussed privately. Someone helped me with bluebook numbers, I think the swing was $670 - $350. As I said, I've seen them go higher, but probably not in this economy.

I am the guy who bought the amp. I wish I saw this post earlier. I bought Ron's M117 amp and lessoned to him and got the Luxman pre amp TP114 for my SDA SRS 2's. When I got the M117 I realized you could only hook up one set of speakers. The TP114 has inputs for two amps such as another M117 amp. The set up now with 2 M117's can handle just about anything I can throw at it. Awesome sound. I have two other Luxman R117 receivers which is close to this setup in a all in one package. Of all the older equipment I have I really like the Luxman and SAE equipment I have. You can't go wrong with Luxman epuipment. Ron was a big help with his advice.

    hi.

    my name is j.b.

i' ve been trying to read all of the different posts about the different receivers on this forum, and i guess it's time to ask some questions...

i have a set of M10's and M7's and was wondering what to power them with.

i'm using a pioeneer SX3800 and dont feel it's really giving the speakers all they need.

i've read alot of good things about luxman stuff from your threads, and was wondering which would be the better way to go...the R115 or R117?

i've also seen a seperate componet system on the bay, here's a description of the amp,"luxman M-120A power amp. This is 120 watt amp in stereo, can be set to operate in mono mode at 300 watts. In stereo will accept 2 sets of speakers 4-16 ohm, both sets driven must be 8ohm-16ohm." but i havent been able to find info thru a search here....does anyone have an opinion of this unit?

this is a cool forum, you all do a really nice job with it.

    thanks for your time.

    peace
