With the arrival of 4 Bad Company, 2 Rolling Stones, a Paul Simon, a Police, and a Yes vinyl LP the official rock and jazz (and all their sub genres) tally is now 1002 plus about 60 classical. Started collecting (again) from zero late February last year.

I don't have an exact count, but I filled up one of these:
I'm guessing around 800-900. I collected mine pretty fast too. All in about 18 months. At first, I was buying bulk lots, but later I got more selective. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
I would be afraid to count. I picked up another 288 this past weekend at a yard sale for $50 and now I am in the process of looking thru these and cleaning the ones I want to keep.Testing

I have a lot.

The reason I know the exact count is....I was buying lots in yard sales etc. and getting way too many doubles triples etc. So took a weekend and alphabetized them and made an excel spread sheet of them so I could keep track and not keep buying records I already have. It was a pain to do but now I know every album and artist I own. I take a copy of the spread sheet when I go out of town because I always find the record shops and flea markets and garage sales on the road too. By the way I also have 206 multiples not included in the count.SDA-1C (full mods)

Yeah Bill...where did you get that rack? Looks real nice.
When your buying in bulk at flea markets...how many lp's are really "playable" ? Say for $50..how many usfull LP's do you really end up with? -

Based on the available data, George and I have the same number of albums in our respective collections. -

I do very few bulk buys anymore simply because I already have most of the stuff you find in a box of LP's. I have been know to buy a box at say $20.00 with maybe 30 to 40 records just for 5 or 6 titles. However very often in a box that size there would only be maybe 6 or 7 unplayables. I have a record cleaning machine and that does wonders for cleaning up dirt grime fingerprints and light mold. Oviously it doesn't fix scratches and those are the ones I count as unplayables. That said however, last year at a garage sale I bought a box of mixed stuff that had a few blues titles I really wanted. I didn't have much time right then and I paid $12.00. Got home and discovered 5 of the very first Rolling Stones LP's on the original release labels from Britain. They were pretty beat up but played through with no skips. Just the first one "Englands Newest Hitmakers The Rolling Stones" in that condition is worth what I paid for the whole box. Then last summer I picked up two boxes of LP's at a local auction house. 175 or so LP's for $90.00. I had hardly looked at them as I arrived at the auction just before that lot went on the block. Won them and got them home. Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Steely Dan, Sabbath etc etc.. All great titles and in beautiful condition. Not a dud in the box. What a deal!! I have been very lucky in my bulk buys.SDA-1C (full mods)

George, if you've kept as many as you've sold, that's the understatement of the year. -
Good lord...thats like finding a corvette in a barn and getting it for nothing....LOL
I usually find old Xmas or just junk in most of the flea markets...LOL -
at last count I think I have about 60 albums and for me that's a lot.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

LOL..you guy's really keep count?.....
I have about 10 crates and boxes, spread around the house...so my guess would be about 800 or so. How many do i "consider playable"..... about 70%...i would guess.
