For the past year I was using my ps2 as the main DVD player. Yesterday I decided that enough was enough and got my "old" DVD player out of my bedroom.

Like night and day. I have a Toshiba 2150 (two-disk DVD) that is 3 years old. Has component hooked up, and I run the digital coax for dts. First off the color is much more superior to the ps2. The only way to put it is that it is more cleaner. Colors are just more vibrant. As for the sound coming through the digital coax, again its better hands down. I don't know how or where it sounds better, only that it does. Also the Toshiba is whisper quiet, in fact I cannot hear a noise come from it. as for the ps2, it like a jet compared to the Toshiba. Very loud fan sound coming from the ps2.

I should have listened and did this a long time ago. While the ps2 served the purpose, I should have never used it in the first place.
