I lurk much more than I post at AK. I love vintage Marantz, tube gear, reel to reel, etc. I get my dose of that stuff over there. I get my dose of Polk here.

I'm a member over there, although I don't post much. I amuse myself with Cornhulio's anti-Polk posts now and again. He was CandyLiquor35 over here before getting the red "B" on his chest...

AK is where I started with audio forums. I learned to love old gear, but have found that I can't afford the old stuff that's worth having. Therefore I've ended up in mid-fi purgatory!

I haven't been there recently, is that whack job STILL doing that?Political Correctness'.........defined

President of Club Polk -
He's also doing it over at AVS too. Kinda amusing because everyone over there knows he's whack job.

I used to spend a fair amount of time at AK when I was experimenting with vintage gear, but for the most part, I find the site pretty annoying. Too many rules and heavy mod presence. In its early days, it wasn't so bad, but then Grumpy and some others turned it into more of a business and got all serious. I went to one of their gatherings here in Atlanta and for the most part, they are the same type of guys we have here at the PF, namely...people who are passionate about audio gear. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Joined yesterday looking for info on an old hk I picked up. Hit the info jackpot. Now I don't have to post all my stupid questions here...

I'm a member, but don't go there much. I like it for the info on vintage gear...namely old Pioneer, Advent and AR stuff."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Yes I am a member there also JIM3860 is my nic there.
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
Yes. Minus the dumpster divers, it's a great place."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Never even clicked onto the website. I foresee that I will in the near future due to this website not changing things in the FM. I want George's pristine vinyl and it's quite clear that he [myself included] do not like the no edit rule when it comes to the FM. Makes things for the buyer as well as the seller not worth the bother when selling multiple things. Time is money and wasting my time reading 6 pages of posts, only to find out the albums I want are sold? Eh, you get the picture.
Prepare yourselves.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
I'm not passing judgement on the No Edit Rule. That's the policy and that's that. Makes it easy to explain why I don't list it here.
