Trey, don't even try to evaluate them until they have at least 50 hours. The more the better.

Ah, I know - I remember my last cable trade out with the Signals... long burn in process with a significant change in performance.. expecting no less here.

The S2 bi-wire cables arrive Wednesday... (maybe if I can somehow get them to me since I have to sign for them and I wont be home)

I tried the S3's in my rig, and also with Jerry's speakers. They did add extra/fuller bass. I don't know if I would use more than one set in your system if you have plenty of bass. Also burn them in between your CDP, and pre. Later I think they will be best suited between pre and amps:)
    Take care. Enjoy. I did:)

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

Thanks! I am planning to go all Shotguns if these work out for me...

So will see -- Will be Shotgun S2 biwire cables, the S2 interconnect and four power cable (AC1) ---

    So, who knows...

But one thing I should note is the MIT Discount Store is selling new cables for refurbished ones - they have to be. The cables look new, 100%

I noticed this also. I recently got some MIT cables and they were brand new. I think MIT is selling these for less than Joe Abrams is buying them. I suspect he is paying the same price we are. They must need the cash.

    I can believe it -

I will emailed them about some off-site items and was offered a very similar deal on NEW products... can't complain. I picked up these cables for far less than used value!

But yeah, manuals - box, everything seemed untouched. Not a scratch anywhere!

But from my initial impressions - they seem like they will be worth the investment... 100%

Just a note......MIT cables do not show wear easily and when they refurb them, they truly are like new.
    MIT cables are extremely colored.

I suppose that would depend on what ones definition of colored is. If one finds that a natural tone, perfect balance, wide and deep sound stage, deep, fast and tight bass with glorious mids and silky smooth highs to be colored, then colored they are.

natural tone is not colored, just someone needing to add a bit of pigweed to the pot as we make our mulligan stew. I find my cables to be quite transparent and natural otherwise I would likely have dumped them long ago.

knowing the sound you like is a bit forward Trey it will be interesting to hear your impressions.

If that's the case, he may prefer the AVt MA's. I found them(the I/C) a little more forward and transparent compared to S2's.

MIT cables are extremely colored. That said, at least their color is consistent and arguably enjoyable. Congrats Sid. They're a fine upgrade from your Signals.

I'll qualify I'm by no means an expert, but I'm learning a lot. I've carefully listened to 6 different cables (7 if you count basic 12 gauge zip cord) in the past 4 months before settling into Shotgun 2 Speaker Interface Cables and IC's

In my humble opinion, I don't believe "colored" is a fair word to use in describing the Shotgun 2's.

I have parametric bass and treble controls plus a bass equalization circuit button on both my NAD preamp/amp and receiver. I used to increase both treble and bass, and used the bass equalization to create what I deemed to be "neutral", "uncolored" sound. On each step up in speaker cabling, I was able to reduce the levels used on the controls.

With the Shotgun 2's now burned in, I entirely bypass all tone control (a button takes the entire circuit completely out of play). and I do not use the equalization button taking that circuit completely out of play also. the Shotgun 2's reproduce what I have defined as "neutral", "uncolored" sound for over 20 years.

We could argue for days that my amps or speakers (or even the age of my ears) "color" the sound, but to my ears at least, the Shotguns produce the proper balance with no extraneous modification.

I am obviously going on first impressions --

If these cables get any better with time, I will have easily bested my Dad's setup is "air" and clarity - that I am sure of.

What an amazing difference. One of the best upgrades I have ever done. Thanks for all the raves for the MIT products.

I am hoping the power cables will make a substantial difference as well!

    Thanks guys!
