Bad experience with Infinity Primus 162, now turning to polk?
Because of the more affordable price of infinity primus speakers, I decided to give them a try and bought a pair of the Primus 162, which is the biggest bookshelf of their lines. On some songs with clean instrument and vocal, the sound coming from the speakers is very crisp and even has a surprisingly deep soundstage but the mid still lacks detail and warmth. But when i played some modern music on the speakers, the high just sounds so empty and does not have any depth. I was looking for a kind of warm, enveloping sound but unfortunately I could not get from these speakers. Now I am considering returning these speakers and getting Polk rti A3. Do you guys think I will enjoy the sound of the A3 speakers a lot more given how much i dislike the highs of the infinity and also the lack of depth in its mid-range?

I LOVE polk audio, as I feel they do represent agreat value for the money, but I would look here for them...

I would also look to the LSI line of bookshelves:D

I love older Infinity but after the Take over by HK its safe to say I dont like any of the newer stuff.

The better Infinity bookshelf is the Beta 20s. But in general, Polk has wonderfully expansive mids., they image well, and the highs have nice detail but need good 'warm' amplification on those highs or else they can sound a tad 'bright' to some.
I agree. In that price range. Polk is one of the best bangs for your buck.

I think if you're looking for more midrange, the RTi A3's are up your alley. What's your budget? If you want to shell out $400-500 on LSi 9's, they will give you what you want and more.
And welcome to Club Polk!
