Hello

I was wondering if any of you guys had any Windows 7 Beta discs you aren't using?

I thought I was on the mailing list to receive one of these but guess I thought wrong...

Am building another computer and wanted to put it on there to try it out a little.

Thanks

There was a decent sized thread on it. I think Billbillw started it.

    Ben

I love it. In my opinion much faster and better than Vista. I'm just hoping they come out with another beta or come out with the retail edition before it expires. Graphics are a bit better, the start menu and taskbar makes it easier to navigate between windows. I haven't ran into any driver or compatibility issues.

If you have an extra partition or hard drive worth trying out.
    Setup:

    2 Channel: Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand, T+A P 1230R, Primare SPA21, Oppo BDP-105
PC: Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, Cambridge Azure 650A v2 , Peachtree iDAC, Denon DVD-3800BDCI

I like it alot better than Vista, it's what Vista should have been in the first place.

The public Beta for Windows 7 is now closed. No more serials are being issued. A disc would only get you so far. You would need a valid serial # to activate the OS.

FYI: You can download the iso file from any of the torrent tracker sites.

What improvements does it have? I was pleased to see symbolic and hard links FINALLY get to Windows in Vista. That is one huge plus. Although it is ironic that you can only do them in COMMAND LINE. :)

Its faster than Vista, It doesn't annoy the crap out of you with warning pop-ups, and it has some innovations to the task bar that help clean things up, although, it takes some getting used to.

I used Windows 7 for about 2-3 weeks straight, then got fed up with a few minor bugs and went back to my XP64bit. I'm sure once the get all the bugs worked out, it will be a very fine OS.
