    I was wondering that myself. i was wondering why you would need that many watts per channel, would'nt bi-amping be better anyway with only 200/250 watts per channel @ 8ohms, and maybe 300/350 watts @ 4ohms?

    :DI have made an offer on the Sunfire and expect that the seller will accept it soon... As far as the power specs you guys are citing lately, I have sent an email to Bob Carver himself and as soon as I get an answer, I will post it in a new thread. That said, Bob has a degree in Physics and is regarded as a living genius in the field of amplifier design, has founded three well regarded companies in the audio world and has been doing this kind of stuff since before a lot of us were born. The rest of us thought being an audiofile was the kid that had the biggest boombox... If Bob designed it, it does what he says.:p

    Like I said if he can make more watts of of less watts we would have free electricity... No grins:(

    I spoke with the Mac's owner again... turns out he is a lead engineer for the f-22 Raptor program in Murietta Georgia. I am feeling better about this transaction all the time:D
