It surely is an eye opener.

I think you can carry around all of that printed paper in 100 truckloads or just carry one Single Blank Check signed by Obama bail out team.

This reminds me of that house boat scene in Blow...
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Hope that slow boat from China doesn't sink, because it's the only way we stay afloat.

To continue the visual in text, we are in debt on the order of 11 of those football fields of money. If you include our promises to pay, or unfunded liabilities, it's close to 100 of those football fields of money, or like the scene from the Raiders of the Lost Ark, where the warehouse just keeps going, and going, and going. . . .

What's the difference between a million, a billion, a trillion?

A million seconds is 12 days.
A billion seconds is 31 years.
A trillion seconds is 31,688 years.

A million minutes ago was – 1 year, 329 days, 10 hours and 40 minutes ago.
A billion minutes ago was just after the time of Christ.

A million hours ago was in 1885.
A billion hours ago man had not yet walked on earth.

A million dollars ago was five (5) seconds ago at the U.S. Treasury.
A billion dollars ago was late yesterday afternoon at the U.S. Treasury.

A trillion dollars is so large a number that only politicians
can use the term in conversation... probably because they
seldom think about what they are really saying. I've read that
mathematicians do not even use the term trillion!
Here is some perspective on TRILLION:

    Trillion = 1,000,000,000,000.
The country has not existed for a trillion seconds.
Western civilization has not been around a trillion seconds.
One trillion seconds ago – 31,688 years – Neanderthals stalked the plains of Europe.

    Million: 1,000,000
    Billion: 1,000,000,000
    Trillion: 1,000,000,000,000
    Quintillion: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000
    Sextillion: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
    Nonillion: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
Centillion: 1 followed by 303 zeros

So just think about that. If you wanted to count to a trillion and you counted 2 numbers per second it would take you 15.5 THOUSAND YEARS!!!!!!!!

NO. I posted a link just for the visualization of what a trillion bucks looks like cuz i thought it was neat. I think everyone is well aware of what's being spent on what yadda yadda. Doest need to be posted in C.P. since...well, Rules are Rules.

Hmm, based on all the past threads, I actually was not aware that that was one of the rules (no pol or religion). Therefore, I improperly transgressed and admit as much.

However, I must also point out that I was not the first to make an obviously political comment in response to the OP, and, frankly, I believe that the OP was easily in violation of that rule, at least in spirit, and any denial of that would have to be tongue-in-cheek and based on a technicality, one which also would have excused my response.

    I say tomato you say......

Look they are "loose" in some instances of Politics and Religon around here. But when people start posting links and blatently talking about it well then it goes downhill fast and it ends up in the HOS and people get banned etc.

Im not C.P. Police and i stand by what i said. What? People cant look at what a trillon dollars looks like and be like cool i wish i had some of that. Or man that would buy alot of gear. Not automatically revert to politics?
